Parade Route & Detours


  • Please arrive for line-up at the Stephentown Fire Hall (35 Grange Hall Road) by 5 PM but no earlier than 4 PM.

  • The parade will step off at 5:30 PM.

  • If possible, please come in via NY-22 & Grange Hall Road (rather than NY-43 to Grange Hall).


  • Please do not throw anything out of vehicles as it will be dark and unsafe to do so. If you have someone walking, they may hand things out to spectators.

  • Sirens, horns, and music are all permitted.

  • Horses will be positioned second to last in the lineup to avoid any issues with walking through manure.

  • Santa will be in the last vehicle.


  • The parade route begins at the Stephentown Fire Hall. We'll proceed south down Grange Hall Road to NY-43 where we'll take a left onto NY-43 going east past the Fire Station and ending at the Veterans Park.

  • At the end of the parade, you can park your vehicle in the field across from the Veterans Park if you would like to attend the tree lighting program. If you don't want to attend the program, you can proceed on to the intersection to leave.


  • Beginning at approximately 5:30 PM, NY-43 will be closed between the intersections of NY-22 to Grange Hall Road. The road will reopen when the parade ends, at approximately 6:30 PM.

  • Browns Road will be closed between NY-43 and NY-22 for the duration of the parade.

  • Grange Hall Road will be closed between NY-43 and NY-22 from approximately 5:30 PM until the last entry turns onto NY-43.

  • Detours will be set up to direct people around the parade.

  • Alternate routes for those on NY-22:

    • Take NY-22 to West Road. Continue on West Road until you get to the intersection of Newton Road. Then:

      • Continue straight onto Cranston Hill Road to reach the intersection of NY-43 just west of Grange Hall Road and just east of Garfield Road. ----OR--

    • Turn right onto Newton Road to reach the intersection of NY-43 between the crossroads of Staples and Sutherland Roads.


  • Tree lighting will begin at the Veterans Park at the end of the parade.

  • There will be a short program & caroling.

  • Santa will be there for kids to visit and take pictures.


  • There will be hot chocolate and popcorn available at the Fire Station.

  • There will be a drop off box for donations for the Toy Drive at the Fire Station.

  • Please NO PARKING at the Station.
